Here is one of the very basic skincare tool…I think we should have. The very first Konjac sponge I tried was from Julep…when I received one in Allure Box. And then “Konjac Sponge” became a part of my skincare tool.
My Findings and Experiences on Julep Charcoal Konjac Sponge:
Here is how Julep Charcoal Konjac Sponge is described:
A super gentle, all-natural exfoliator enriched with skin-clarifying charcoal that cleanses, exfoliates and detoxifies your skin. Use in the morning to show off smoother, softer skin and in the evening to prep your skin for moisturizers.
To use: Rinse under warm water before each use. Massage your face in a circular motion to exfoliate dead skin cells. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water after each use. Replace every 1-2 months. Please note, sponge will arrive damp. For best results, use with Love Your Bare Face Hydrating Cleansing Oil.
Its a dark colored drop shaped soft sponge when wet. It also comes with a string and a suction cup to hang it. I like the shape of this Konjac Sponge when compared to others. It is bigger in size and fits in the hand almost perfectly. So I feel it is easier to hold and use it as compared to the round ones.
It comes wet in pack. When I saw it packed for the very first time…my instant thought were…is there some issues with the sponge. But then after reading everything about it…I came to know that it does come wet. it is almost 1.5 times bigger when wet as compared to when dry. And it is a lot harder when dry.
So now coming to usage…then very first thing to do is to wet it. If the sponge is too dry…it will be very hard…and takes time to get saturated and increase in size. I usually put some cleanser on it and start massaging my face gently with it. This sponge itself is gentle for face…but still I make sure that I am using it gently. It lathers up pretty quickly.
Konjac Sponges has an important part in my skincare routine. If you think “Scrubs” may be harsh for you…if used daily and they actually are…you can think of using these. It is gentle enough to use on daily basis…and thus make sure you are exfoliating daily and not creating issues for the skin at the same time.
I usually change mine once every 2 month as these are sponges and they tend to become unhygienic with time. But then overall I love Julep Konjac Sponge and Konjac Sponges in general.
Final take on Julep Charcoal Konjac Sponge:
Yes…I have repurchased it many times. I like this more than many other I have tried because of the size. I now prefer it over using my bare hand or brushes
